Roof Box Hire terms and conditions
Box Hire is subject to availability, please fill out Roof Box Hire enquiry form or contact us direct to check on available hire dates.
You must have Roof Bars fitted to your vehicle to enable a Roof Box to be securely fitted. If you do not have Roof Bars you can either purchase Thule bars from us which we offer a free fittings service. Alternatively you can supply your own bars which must be securely fitted to your vehicle at approx. 70 cm apart before we are able to fit our Roof Box. If there is any movement on the bars, they are spaced incorrectly or they are a type not suitable for your vehicle we will either ask you to refit the bars correctly or refuse to hire a Roof Box. This is for the safety of yourselves and other road users.
The hired roof box must not be removed by yourselves during the hire period. The roof box will be securely fitted by a member of staff and will removed at the end of your hire period.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that any equipment not provided by McGanns is securely fitted to your vehicle.
If your plans change and you do not require a Box Hire then please let us know asap as we may be able to help another customer with availability.
If you are going to be returning later than your agreed date then please let us know asap as the box you have may have been hired to another customer. We reserve the right to charge you an additional £10 per day after the agreed return date.
If the Hired Roof Box is not returned 7 days after the agreed hire date you will be charged for the total retail cost of the Hired Roof Box as stated on your agreement form.
All Hire Boxes should be returned in the same condition as when they leave the store. Any damage will be charged for repair on replacement equipment, which ever is the cheaper value.
Do not over load the Roof Box as you may find it hard to lock. You will be instructed how the locking mechanism works when you collect your box. If you find the lock hard to turn either take some items out of the box or move them around to make closing the lid easier. Do not force the lock to turn, any damages of this kind will be deemed as misuse and will be chargeable.
Cleaning the Roof Box will not be necessary, but a charge of £10 will be made if the equipment is returned overly dirty.
McGanns will not be held responsible for any damage to your vehicle, personal injury resulting in use/misuse of the equipment hired, or theft from items stored in the Roof Box.
McGanns will fit the Roof Box onto your vehicle, it will be your responsibility to ensure that the equipment is secure on your vehicle before beginning any journey.
